Bart Wszola
Counselling Psychologist
Bart is a registered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience as a psychologist. He completed his master’s degree in counselling psychology at Curtin University and has been part of the Cambridge Psychology and Abbotsford Hospital team since 2008. His previous work experience includes drug and alcohol agencies, the criminal justice and prison systems, working with refugees, and children in foster care.
Bart’s practice of meditation for the last 20 years has contributed to his interest in the use of mindfulness-based therapies as well as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Schema Focused Therapy
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy
- Emotion Focused Therapy and the latest brain and nervous system research regarding better health and wellbeing. He is also interested in the use of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for working with trauma and PTSD related difficulties.
His areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- Substance use
- Anger management difficulties
- Trauma and post-traumatic stress
- Relationship and isolation difficulties
- Grief and other emotional difficulties
- Mindfulness and meditation skills
Bart also has extensive experience in carrying out various types of psychological assessments, such Criminal Injury Compensation reports and psychological Court assessments/reports.
